97% of Our Recommended Legislative Candidates Were Elected in 2008 -- Demonstrating that Pennsylvania Residents Do Care About the Compassionate Treatment of Animals!
Welcome to the website of a Pennsylvania Political Action Committee dedicated to electing candidates who demonstrate an understanding and a willingness to work to amend Pennsylvania laws to eliminate animal cruelty within the Commonwealth.
All of nature's creatures deserve at least one day of rest
And there should be at least one day each week that Pennsylvania residents can venture into the countryside or woods without fear of being shot!
Sunday hunting has been banned in Pennsylvania for more than 125 years. This day of rest for all of nature's creatures has also provided the vast majority of our Commonwealth's residents with the opportunity to spend time in the countryside or woodlands without fear of being mistakenly shot by an errant hunter.
Hunting enthusiasts already enjoy hunting seasons that encompass six days each week during more than a third of each year.
Hikers, bird watchers, picnicers, horseback riders, trail bikers, wildlife photographers, and families who simply enjoy the opportunity to be out of doors in a rural area often can participate in these activities only on Sundays. Taking away the one day per week that Pennsylvania's majority of non-consumptive tax paying outdoor wildlife enthusiasts and their families can enjoy our woodland and fields without fear of stray shots is a blatant example of setting public policy to satisfy a decreasing special interest minority.
Rural land owners alreay suffer from trespassing hunters upsetting livestock and trampling crops. These tensions will only increase by extending hunting to seven days per week without a commensurate increase in resources for enforcement.
Pennsylvania's legislators need to draw the line and say NO to the shoot anything at any time crowd by voting against extending hunting to seven days per week!
