Elissa B. Katz is the Development Director of The Humane League of Philadelphia and a partner at the law firm of Meranze and Katz, PC. and a board member of Humane USA PA PAC.
She is the chairperson and founder of Professionals Against Foie Gras, a grass roots advocacy group opposing the sale of foie gras within the City of Philadelphia.
She is a volunteer with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and has done independent feral/stray cat rescues including trap/neuter/return and adoption. She has personally found loving and safe homes for over 50 adoptable strays and has secured caretakers for returned feral cats.
Elissa earned a J.D. from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and a B.A., The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. with a major in Political Science. She also served as a violin instructor at the New Jersey School of Music, Medford, NJ.
